The need for greater security on the Internet for general or commercial exchanges will mean that the PC industry will be able to sell more powerful machines to both business and retail customers. This is something that the article in Economist appears not to have considered.

Why does greater security require more powerful machines? Is security a function of hardware or software? Can you teach me about this?
