Intel (INTC, $62.88) -- Like AOL, the world's leading semiconductor
maker has suffered this year as investors worry about competition.
Intel's current price "is a great entry point," Amato says. "We couldn't
pass up that value." Lehman believes that growing sales of chips for
servers and workstation computers will offset weak prices for chips
that go into personal computers and that cost-cutting will continue a
trend toward wider gross margins.

Barry, From the article

"Nearly all of Intel's expected $7.7 billion profit this year will come from processors used in computers costing $1,200 or more."

Huh ? I have been reading every where that Celeron is the king.
Or does it mean most Celeron are actually found in computers
costing 1200 or more ?

Gary

These people do not understand antitrust law. There is no law against even a monopolist selling below cost. Of course, if the monopolist is trying to destroy competition, that is actionable. But as long as the monopolist is meeting competition (i.e. reducing its price to the level of AMD's prices for similar chips) it commits no crime. AMD should raise it's prices above Intel's. Intel would be forced to raise its prices above AMD's. Everyone would make more money.
