Max Moseley has released his latest Skeptical Investor - a good read on Greenspan's strategy and a likely scenario for the imminent Wall Street Crash.

Richard, How much of the central bank gold will make it's way to the market.....who knows? If it does become totally demonetised then the entire hoard will get there over the next 10-20 years. Right now we saw gold fall in price over the past 2 years in US$ terms. Many Asian countries saw gold rise in domestic value as their own currencies fell by more than gold fell. Their currencies are now in recovery mode and they are buying more with every passing day. In addition India now permits free gold to be imported and that has increased enormously(fivefold increase). Some of that was the bypassing of the smugglers who were put out of business when gold became a duty free permitted import to India. Production is still below useage, itht eh differences coming from the CB hoards and gold recyvling from scarp. Scrap recovery is slowing down as the ciurcuit boards now have thinner gold and most of the pre-1982 scrap has been scrapped already. Boards from new computers are worth 30-50 cents per pound now. GE computers used to be worth $100 per pound as they had 100 microinch plating and contact buttons on the edges. The last big reserves of high golkd computers are the old FAA machines and the military machines. They will come out one fine day. A modern Taiwanese motherboard is very low in gold, they have eliminated gold in most places after it went to $850 and trapped many in loss making contracts to make boards.
So at some point the whole thing will become metastable and an event will flip it over. Do the feds try yo keep a lid on gold?, you bet, if gold flips it will be seen as inflation and that the $$ is falling.
Timing?, it all depends on who gets greedy first. The games played by miners to sell forward are also complicating factors. Few new contracts for high forward sales are now being made, they are far more reasonable now. Some still exist and will exist for years to come.
When will it flip? dog knows.
