OT I think we, as Americans, just take for granted that we can weather any storm....although this has proven to be true more times than not, I think we make it harder on ourselves sometimes than it needs to be....I don't want to get into whether or not we needed to run up the debt to these levels, because there's a whole lot on both sides of that one!....however, the issue before the American people is: When this economy turns for the worse, do we want the country to be in a healthy position financially or in the position it is in today?....after all, the only thing that makes the US Governments current position look healthy is the surplus generated by a healthy economy....under the surface resides a deeply indebted nation and we ought to insist on candidates who address debt reduction effectively....Aahh, what a pipe dream!
