***To All***

I just received my July issue of R&D (Research and Development)magazine. It's a trade magazine for the semiconductor industry. Anyway, my point. In the information management section they reported on Internet telephony as follows:

Internet/telephony growth to continue

"Information Technology Market Overview," released by ZD InfoBeads, La Jolla Calif. (800-854-8403, www.infobeads.com), at COMDEX/Spring '99 inChicago, reports an increased use of Internet technologies in intranets. This has created greater demand for bandwidth, such as T1 lines, and ADSL and SDSL technology. Also in demand is Internet telephony, with an annual market of more than $100 billion. This technology provides businesses with free long distance by running voice traffic over their IP networks. According to the report, 100 million people in the United States will have access to the Web by the end of this year. Internet access, however, should hit saturation by the middle of 2000 for the large-business market.
