Steve,

Dan Niles should be "sweatin bullets". I believe he noticed the large number of
Celeron sales and made the not to bright conclusion that it was at the expense of
high end Intel CPU's. Facts now seem to indicate that the Celeron's were beating
the crap out of the AMD chips, and the Intel high end CPU's are doing fine. If he's
smart, he would seize the opportunity and correct himself while there is still time.
May do wonders for the stock and his reputation. Any chance of this?

He's probably looking for a rock to slither under, or, is it under which to slither?

Tony

I sure hope so.

I have seen a zillion HP and Dell and Compaq TV commercials advertising the Pentium /// and Gateway pushing the heck out of the Celeron.

In about 9 days, we will know the results .

My guess is that he will pull the Analyst Fast One. He will raise or post Intel's earnings ABOVE the consensus estimate and attach a catch phrase "I don't think Intel will meet this goal ".

Then, he gurantees that he is a WINNER. If Intel beats the estimates - and matches his HIGHER one, he wins !

If Intel misses the higher estimate - by ANY AMOUNT - he will claim he was CORRECT in his prediction.

Erika Klauer - now at Alex Brown - likes to practice this Bullsh*t as well.
