Far be it from me to disparage a good scare story, but even a cursory review of your last post needs a response.

I'll grant you, I just scanned the post, but it was so alarmist that I think a few comments are in order.

First, I don't know that DoD has any such plan as you describe. But even if (repeat, EVEN IF) they do, you need to understand how we military types do things. [I'm a retired GI] We got criticized so often by the press, the public, and Congress when we got caught flatfooted, that we started to develop "plans" for everything imaginable. In fact, there are hundreds of young Lieutenants and Captains hoping to make themselves known in their respective headquarters bureaucracies by illuminating "potential problems" that "require more attention." Now, I'm certain that NO civilian organization would tolerate a bunch of young Turks going around looking for a way to be noticed by finding "new" problems to be solved, but sadly, the military does. And, when our Turks manage to get an ear, they form a committee under the authority of that ear, and produce a "plan." Then there is something of substance to go into the next Officer Efficiency Report, and separate them from all the other anonomyous headquarters toads bouncing around whatever hallowed halls they are assigned to.

As I mentioned, I'm a retired GI. Take my word for it, while we may have some lingering hatred for Jane Fonda, we are not equipped or mentally capable of killing, torturing, or enslaving our fellow Americans. When young people put on a uniform and learn to march, they don't leave all their morals and beliefs at the front gate of the base. Military folks are a reflection (a "statistically valid sample") of our society as a whole. If you think your next door neighbor will turn on you, as they did in [former] Yugoslavia, then you have good reason to be worried; don't worry too much about our GIs, though. Despite what liberals and the media would have you believe, we aren't a bunch of Nazis who blindly follow orders.

Now, if you want to talk about the BATF, I have some stories to contribute ...
