Speaking of dogs. People are always walking small to medium size dogs around here. Montgomery (my male cat) was outside greeting me as I drove up. We were on our way to the house when a young woman walked up with a mid size dog on a leash that was very interested in Montgomery. She let the dog come near us so he could see a cat up close. Too close..as Montgomery hauled off and popped him one right on his nose. He is afraid of NOTHING. If he had claws that dog would have been hurting big time.

The other day a big pit bull mix was out without his parents. I heard all this yapping and finally ran out to see......Montgomery eye ball to eyeball with this BIG dog...like "ya want soma this fella"

Now you are getting into dog psychology. Which I pretty much stay away from. Dogs, in my experience, tend to be a bit goofy (good grief, I just realized that's why Goofy is named Goofy).

Excuse me while I take a moment.

[pause]

[Hit any key to continue.]

Anyway, where was I. Oh. Your cats' treatment of your dog. Well, that's because they consider the dog to be one of your "kittens" and therefore their pet, not your pet. It may sound complicated but it's perfectly simple to the cat. And they get away with it because dogs, as I said, are a bit goofy.

Don't let the irritated looks get to you. According to Peaches, every cat thinks it is a lion anyway.
