X-STREAM NETWORK: The X-Stream Network launches 'X-Stream SmartShopper' with BargainFinder

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Story Filed: Thursday, July 01, 1999 1:50 PM EST

JUL 1, 1999, M2 Communications - London -- The X-Stream Network, the UK's third largest and first free ISP and pioneer of the free 0800 Internet Calls strategy, announces an alliance with BargainFinder as a content service provider to increase the information and value available to X-Stream subscribers and site visitors through an e-commerce offering called SmartShopper (http://smartshopper.x-stream.co.uk).

The deal brings a major new innovation exclusively to X-Stream users: SmartShopper allows subscribers to enter the name of any music, book, video or DVD title and then be offered comparative prices by the e-retailer. Searching by performing artist or author will also be possible. This service will raise consumer confidence and enthusiasm towards e-commerce.

Daniel Gestetner, managing director of Focus Digital Limited which licences the technology, commented, "This comparison shopping technology has been created to bring comparison shopping to the UK consumer. With this service now at your fingertips, online shopping will become convenient, easy, quick, fair and above all a joy."

We believe that it is the first product that has been developed from a purely consumer perspective; with more developments in the pipeline, we look forward to further enhancing the online shopping experience."

This is the latest addition to the X-Stream Network's fold of exclusive partnerships. X-Stream understands the needs of internet users and continues its drive to bring a broad and thorough scope of services via its web site. The site is dynamic and user friendly, offering visitors an easy, accessible interface to whatever information they require, including news, travel, finance, and details on how to make best use of the internet.

Paul Myers, managing director of X-Stream UK, commented, "Our service is purely internet-focussed, and we are constantly seeking to add to the benefits it brings to our subscribers. The addition of SmartShopper to The X-Stream Network demonstrates this unique commitment and will bring unprecedented choice and value to the growing number of users who shop on the Net. We are proud to introduce this service to X-Stream subscribers."

"After all the retailers following X-Stream's lead and clamoring to become FREE ISP's, it's a great opportunity to be able to offer a retail service that can drastically undercut high street prices and eat into their market too!"

A CNBC-TV Business Reporter from London said today -"WATCH OUT BILL GATES THE BRITS ARE COMING" -That looks like a good sign for those that hold Internet stocks in the U.K., no doubt the Internet is starting to boom in the U.K. and Europe. Although two years behind the USA, let's hope some of those U.K. companies turn out to be like AOL, Yahoo and EBAY with their 2,000% and 3,000% gains, all over again!!!--I was talking to a friend the other day who knows his way around those IPO's a little bit and he was telling me if FreeServe and China.com come out with IPO's this month at i.e. US$15.00/sh. to US$20.00/sh. the best price he figures the little person will pick shares up at on day #1 is US$60.00/sh.!!That was no surprise to me.!!!!
