You may be out of your area of expertise. The first amendment protects us against having the government impair our freedom of expression. A newspaper who refuses to print my letter to the editor does not run afoul of the First Amendment. Neither does an employer who requires me to sign a nondisclosure agreement. Nor does a plaintiff in a defamation suit.

Your expertise in this instance seems to be in trying to change the topic.

If the lawsuit is bogus, the complaint should be dismissed and the plaintiff should be held accountable for any overreaching.

That does not excuse the plan, and the expressed threat, to misuse the discovery process.
