Article in NY times over weekend about AOL, how they have grown and there further plans to grow in other area's including AOL TV, which
they are very optimistic about the growth in this area and it soundslike they have some similar products and ideas as to where the market is heading like ACTV.Yet , until now they do not have free access to cable broadband and are forced to go with Satellite and SBC and Bell ATlantic DSl which may be a part of Americast. So we are way ahead of them in terms of the #'s we will have access through the CAble co's digital stb deployment, and in terms of our agreements with Box and Mtv networks and Fox Sports Networks and HYper Tv Networks, We will access greater #s with a captive audience through these networks, great strategy. Since AOl built there model on the simplicty of use and the ability for people to communicate especially young teenagers on line with e mail, buddies and various chat.
Those of us who have seen a demonstration of our ability to view a video and chat simultaneously with others will be extremely powerful.
Especially as we engage our relations with Box and MTV with viewing audience in excess of 50 million world wide. We will capture a significant marketshare of AOL subscribers or these types with our enchanced features and agreements with are broadcast Network Partners.
It is all in the digital stb's. The more they deploy and the sooner,
the growth of our little company will materialize.

FRom my perspective, Samuels strategy and his management team are playing a great game of chess.I believe he is on the mark with the companies technolgy, with its strategic relationships and its abilities to execute what ever they have up until this point.
Samuels is correct in his vision and his executions so far.
He does not control the deployment of digital stb's, and as he stated before,Once we have reached a point where we have stb's in the homes
and they reach a crtical mass. ACTV will be a giant Media company.

So, he sold some stock. We may even have to wait another six month's
for commercial rollout and possibly see the stock price go lower,
Keep your eyes on digital subscribers. that is they important element
at this stage.

Another take on the Rupert Murdoch deal....I particularly like the first paragraph...just shows even media moguls can change their minds.."CYA" style, ...er, have a change of heart:

Murdoch learns to love the Net

"Just six months ago, media mogul, Rupert Murdoch said the Internet will "destroy more companies than it will create" and claimed he was in no hurry to rush online. But last week, Murdoch's News Corporation launched a major new media investment fund along with Japanese high-tech conglomerate, Softbank. So why the apparent change of heart?......"
