Eric,

It's a pleasure to be concentrating on earnings again after the long period bonds and interest rates have been moving things around.

Following up on your many observations about discount brokers vs. day trading brokers, I'm in the process of opening a CyberX account to add to my Brown account. I just can't find any acceptable way to sell short through a discounter and will use that account primarily for that purpose. Being the contrarian, I'm hitting the short side more heavily now just as the market is rallying. Go figure. Will also use the account for opening plays as I can't get fast fill reports during this period so I generally avoid it.

BTW made money every week from late April through last Friday mostly on the long side. As I've said before, my favorite environment for trading is mostly cloudy with a chance of storms. For me, trading a strongly trending bull has always been the challenge.

Alan

FYI, I have a new article on www.TigerInvestor.com, "The Equity Curve Technique (EQT) - A Foundation for Short-Term Trading Success". This is an expanded version of a trading-management methodology I first posted on this thread (https://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=10028398 -- "The Equity Curve Technique, Powerful Feedback" - #250/June 8).

The new article on Tiger goes into much more detail as to the rationale and "how-to" of using an equity curve to boost your trading performance substantially. To quote the article, "Of all the techniques I've adopted in the long road of learning to trade consistently, EQT is one of the most valuable I can share." At least for me, that's not an exaggeration.

Someone suggested using copy/URL in my browser to post a link to the articles on TigerInvestor, but I don't find that feature in MS-Explorer v5.00 (must be a Netscape feature;). The TigerInvestor site isn't designed to show the URL's of the sub-pages, but if you go to their homepage, it is a 1-click link. This article has an imbedded graphic that is central to many of the concepts presented, so it probably wouldn't be as useful, copied here as text.

Good Trading, -Steve
