Mike,
I read the artile in Red Herring. It has some really good stuff. And, it led me back to NEON. It seems that EAI is going to grow in importance as companies try to pull together all the various legacy and emerging technologies to compete cost effectively. NEON and other EAI pull these technologies together.

What the article doesn't say is that NEON is expected to walk away with 42% of the profits generated in this area in 2000 and far surpasses any competetor, of which there seems to be about 8-9. They also have won a patent on a Rules Engine that apparantly makes their solution much faster and simpler than competitors.

I was interested that a representative of NEON casually stated he expected MSFT to enter the market. Are they concerned or do they expecte to be bought?

As of todaay I really think NEON desreves consideration as a potentially emerging gorilla. They are certainly in the tornado, have a clear market lead, have some proprietary technology, have formed value chains, and are an enabling technology.

Any thoughts, anyone?

Len
