Camdessus says IMF gold sale at ``reasonable price'

<< International Monetary Fund Managing Director Michel Camdessus said on Monday that IMF gold sales aimed at helping poor countries with debt relief would be made at the right moment and at a ``reasonable price' so as not to further depress the world market.

Camdessus, speaking to a news conference in Geneva where he took part in a high-level U.N. meeting on poverty, expressed confidence that the United States would back the gold sale plan, which requires the approval of 85 percent of the IMF's board. >>

I guess it comes from being the head of an organization that has been wrong most of the time or perhaps he has taken the page from Slick's book that says, if you repeat something enough times, people will begin to believe it.
