Good morning, Herc. I'd heard "pimply-faced pissants' before and I have to agree that CompUsa seems to have more than its share of them--although Staples can give them a run for their money.

Sometimes I shudder at the thought of what might happen if today's cashiers had to man the cash registers of 20 years ago, having to read a price, know if the item is taxable or not, know the tax rate applicable, and make change.

Like you, I am amazed when I encounter friendly competence! On the Dates thread I recounted a story. All I'll say about it here is that I was so impressed by the caliber of the ongoing support I received from a person at a software company that when I was in the area on a business trip, I met him for dinner! We are still friends three years later. Naturally, he went on to better things than customer support. Only the idiots seem to stick around.
