which might force the company to deliver profits./end of quote.
Without getting into politics, the Communist China works on a complete different system from ours. They can sacrifice profits "in the interest of the vast number of people"
The government gets to decide what are good for the people, and thus the content regulation.
China.com does offer a Taiwan site, but I don't know how popular it is, and if it generates any meaningful revenue.
In any case, generating profits is never THE priority for a Chinese state run company.
Still, the myth about the Chinese internet usage together with a strong name and solid backers will undoubtedly assure China.com's ipo to be a huge success.
