<<It is obvious we are on completely different wavelengths. Whereas you look to see how much domestic natural gas is available, I'm looking internationally.>>
I was also. I stated there are companies that are today making a profit from gas and oil from only domestic (lower 48 production). I can site examples of companies that have no diversification, have heavy competitive exposure to imports from what is believed to be "lower cost Mexican production" and yet make money.
The Mexican petroleum industry is state owned and subsidized. These companies which operate in border states operate in direct competition from natural gas produced in Mexico with no subsidy or other protection.

As a matter of fact, the inverse is true. The Mexican natural gas market is protected from imports, but exports to many of our border states.

If as you suggest, the world is awash in oil and natural gas, Why then has the price not collapsed and prevented profit in these companies?

What you are saying simply does not wash!
