Its a character building thing to have had an alcohol or drug problem and then walk away from it. Maybe in our touchy feely culture it will work in his favor. He learned from his mistakes and is a better man for it. Who cares what the mushy moderate Christian Coalition thinks? GWB may stumble. If he does, there is a wealth of candidates on the Republican side who will easily step in.
