i'm not very well versed in TA either but i agree with your concern about volume. Hopefully, it'll pick up after everyone comes back from the holiday weekend.

Bill, I am no technician either. The volume has been light since MSFT was under 80 (i think). I tend to look at light volume as a sign that people are not selling out of this market. That is, individual investors have not panicked and are now starting to deploy cash that had been saved from defensive strategies (money markets etc). Maybe the big hedge fund managers don't want to go short (or are in the process of covering).
Now the interest rate concerns are starting to go away. In addition, a lot of people expect an economic slowdown anyways. That is generally a good sign for tech stocks----low interest rates meaning high PEs sustainable in certain companies/sectors.

I see MSFT going over 100 but am not confident that it could maintain those levels going into Aug/Sept(unless we see a DOJ settlement). That is why i have an exit strategy for my options and a hold for my MSFT stock.

Just my 2 cents.
