*OT* Actually I recall a study done in the early 70s where a researcher recorded plants screaming when exposed to scalding water and being pruned. I was a youngster so I am not sure if it was true audio or only a distress signal of some sort converted to sound but it was there. I call myself an anit-hunting hunter. I believe in the sport of the hunt, not the actual shooting of the animal as the goal. (Don't get me wrong, I pull the trigger when I find my critter). The reason I call myself this and make this statement is I have seen too many road hunters, hunters that go out in groups and drive their game to a waiting shooter and hunters that bait or use PACKS of dogs to get game. There is a difference in taking a good bird dog and using 10 dogs to chase a bear or deer. Also the hunters that regularly shoot each other mistaking them for a deer is ridiculous. How was this hunter ensurig he was shooting only a buck and not a doe if he can't differentiate between a person usually wearing hunter orange and a deer with a set of antlers. I enjoy the one on one mind game of stalking, yes stalking, not sitting in a tree waiting for one to walk by, and quietly getting within range to drop my target. While many say this is barbaric, I ask which is worse, hand feeding a cow it's entire life with the cow being as tame as the family dog until it is big enough to slaughter or stalking and shooting a deer that knows everyone in the woods is the enemy. Still because of the majority of morons in the woods, I would give it up in a heartbeat to get the idiots out of the woods. JMHO, Back to lurk mode. Lee
