that is what I am saying. His getting in the N. guard is no more disgraceful than you not going into the military. Did he have influence to get into the guard?? Probably so, as did a lot of men then. So what? Was it against the law to have that influence? If so then I guess I broke the law cause my brother(who was in the guard then) influenced the Command Sergeant Major to get me in.

The thing you may not realize is that he probably regrets being in the Guard now in his older years. I do. I very much respect the men and women who served in Vietnam, but that won't change the fact that I will not DISrespect the ones now that did not.

But you also have to understand that then ,if you went to Vietnam you came back being considered a baby killer, drug addict. or if you did not go you were a draft dodger. It was a no win deal. Seems the ones hollering the most were people like Fonda(who by the way -care to look at who she supports)

Now the question. Are you going to support a dem. pres. that takes money from a lady that went to N. Vietnam and ran down our military on wordwide TV???

What is the difference? Either the past is the past or it is not. Serving time in the Guard was not a crime to the best of my knowledge.

BTW, I have not decided if I will vote for Bush for the repub. ticket, but his military will not be a factor unless he has done something immoral and/illegal.
