What's the matter Drakey? Upset that ABT put out a balanced press release stating the good (consolidation write off expected to be in the middle of the range, saving nearly 5 million dollars) with the bad (one customer filed for reorganization in Q4 causing the company to increase reserves, thereby causing the company not to meet the Q ebitda estimates and released this news prior to Q end)? Poor Drakey.

Too bad they spoiled your plans for a single release, eh, giving Evans et al the opportunity to satisfy his short buddies by putting a header out with ABTX and bankruptcy in the header (the shorts' goal.)

Maybe it's time for you to move on to richer short waters and get a life (you post so much one would think your PC is in your living room/bedroom/bathroom , method of transportation and at your work...oh, hmmmmmm, makes one wonder if you are PAID to do this constant barrage of negative posting after all, doesn't it.)

Roll-ups have business plans that take time to prove out. Roll-ups got killed in the last 2 years, due to the risk of not-smooth-as-silk consolidation executions and with unproven management for large consolidations (see HZP, ROSI for a couple of examples and WCOM 3-4 years ago.) Now that the Russell 2000 is finally looking strong after a long spell of Rodney Dangerfield disease, it is quite possible that index funds will be forced to buy in to ABT (one of the Russell 2000 stocks) as people put their mutual funds back into small cappers.

ABT still has things to prove, no doubt. But it is not as dire as you would like it to be here in print.

Additionally, biotech enhancements are yet to be revealed as revenue/profit enhancing, which is the wild card today-just how soon could they announce this? I believe it is a lot closer than many think. This is more likely since FY99 closed out last week. If no announcements come, my guess is it drifts sideways in a trading range due to short covering (moving on to more lucrative plays) and index funds picking up the slack for little interest in the retail sector.

Should we get a clearer picture of the future for ABT, since FY99 is closed, which will be much brighter than what you depict, well...

:-)
