I did raise myself from my achy stupor long enough to accompany Family on a trip to the gyn office. We drew a new doctor - a very friendly lady who'd had three of her own and was very good at telling us the straight story neatly shorn of the compulsory HMO propaganda.
Souse was nervously chattering while getting invaded by the sonograph head. (One - looks good - in the right place. Yippeeee) She admitted to taking folic acid "up the wazoo". The doc smiled wryly and said that it's a bit more effective when taken orally. She then immediately apologized for an inappropriate remark. Too bad! If she'd'a known us, she would not have needed to apologize. I'm still grinning.

It's such a pleasure when the system serves you a good doctor.
