I didn't know we were discussing costs and benefits. I thought you said that you had paid for all of your (higher) education. I have never questioned that you or any scholar have returned worth for worth, or that it wasn't a good deal for society. I think it is important to recognize that when society subsidizes something, that one can at least add up what it costs. Then, maybe later, we can do the cost benefit when all the benefits are in.
