Larry, I was sitting not 30 feet from DW when he said that they will bring no company public before it is ready, and I believe him. He didn't feel the need to "prop up" the price after the earnings announcement took us all south, and I doubt he will use this direct shares program as a crutch for any "wobbly" IPO's. He can't direct market conditions at IPO date, but they are not just spittin' these companuies out just for fun. There is substantial development which occurs and synergies which develop before the companies are taken public. I do agree with the free lunch part though. ;-)

Robert, I don't disagree at all with your assessment.

While the Engage IPO may yield short-term benefits for the few fortunate to participate, a 5,000 foot fly by is probably more appropriate to recognize that those who own CMGI will have already participated in the long term benefits that may or may not be realized in the Engage IPO by dint of their CMGI ownership.

Never could understand why bottom-feeding for 100 shares here or there was worth the motion. If you want the really big fish, sometimes you have to sit in the chair trolling for awhile.

If I own the parent, I own the subsidiaries. What am I missing? I know you feel the same.

Hope you had a great 4th.

Best regards,

Mark

Robert, could it be that DW wants to reward CMGI longs and show them some benefits to being long even when the common is gyrating...

best regards
