Mike,

RealPlayer will be a must-have for any set-top box to survive in the future. WebTV had RealPlayer for a long time. But it is very confusing as to why it only wants to add RealAudio G2, not the whole RealPlayer G2?

Remember that not too long ago, Microsoft asked SpyGlass to write a web browser for CE. WebTV is certainly capable of porting its browser onto CE, why didn't Microsoft ask WebTV to do so?

Microsoft has long asked WebTV to use CE. But WebTV has been very slow at accepting CE, and I haven't seen any CE based WebTV on the market. Why is WebTV, a Microsoft owned company, not using Microsoft's OS?

These are just some questions I have about WebTV/Microsoft. Their actions are confusing and some time contradicting. It doesn't seem that Microsoft and WebTV are cooperating very well. This may lead WebTV, a competing platform to Liberate's, into failure. And if WebTV is going to fail, it will not be all Microsoft's fault. WebTV has made a lot of bad sales and marketing decisions, even though that WebTV is a nice product.
