Given that you recently stated that you have not had a sexual relationship with a woman, which is the same for me, maybe it's just that sexual/romantic relationships are more problematic than others. I have known some wonderful women in my time, and some wonderful men - my best relationships with men, these days, are "father-daughter" and "mother-son" relationships. Not just with family members.

X--<No that isn't always true. Men can love you in a way that is hateful- and sneaky and manipulative. Men can worship you in a way that is dangerous. Men can protect you until you, as a woman, no longer have any freedom to protect. Men can do damage both by hating and by loving- in that weird unhealthy way that some men have.> A good example of this kind of loving is illustrated in the new Spike Lee movie Summer of Sam. Not an easy movie to watch, BTW. I don't know where I stand on the points that you make. My experience is 50/50 although men do it more overtly violent then women, but women can be just as vicious indirectly, IMHO. Women are more conditioned to cooperate and not reject their own sensitivity(links with mother); while men, in their need to separate from their mothers have to get nasty to affirm their identity. Many are able to make comebacks later in life or if their mothers are not clingy or rejecting they don't need to be so nasty and rejecting of their own sensitivity. Myron
