I have to admit that you did an awfully good imitation of some people I have run into on SI! Pretty dumb of me not to catch on, though. Alan Greenspan and Stealth fighters have made a lot of Americans feel financially and militarily invulnerable. The funny thing is that the euphoria is so contagious that I feel kind of happy myself, even while preparing for dire consequences. Such a contrast to the great weight of impending draft notices and the Cold War that hung over me for years in my youth.
