San Fran's vote tomorrow looks like IMO going to go against ATHM. I am long and I think that is great. Why?

1- This will definitely catch the FCC eyes and they will then have to rule on the issue. I am positive the FCC will not open cable simply because the market is to new to regulate and regulation would cause disinvesting thereby causing slow availablity of broadband which in turn favors only AOL and the Bells. AOl is in no great need of broadband and its delay will allow it to grow without any opposition. the Baby Bells also are far from interested in a major rollout of DSL which will canibalize their already profitable T1 lines and ISDN lines.
2- The FCC will regulate later on if it does turn to a monopoly but IMO Michael Armstrong seems to have the correct vision that free and open access will be in everyone's best interest. Once Athm catches up with AOL the real fireworks will begin.
3- I'm not sure were I read it but if Steve Case is so scared of ATHM then this must be a great investment to hold.

Michael,

You are wrong about the sub projections unless you can site something other than Will Hearst's 1995 statement about "1 million customers before years end".

Yawn to your baseless comments.
