EMC SAN Conference call:

I just listened to the EMC SAN conference call and had a few observations that I was hoping someone could provide more insight into.

The Silkworm seemed to get "hammered" in the call by EMC where EMC indicated that it's Connectrix switching product was far superior. Doesn't sound like a political problem to me; re: BRCD not in Fibre Alliance.

This leads me to believe that EMC is positionsing its Connectrox switch to compete with both BRCD and ANCR's switches.

I was also concerned that ANCOR wasn't mentioned as a "big" switch producer or involved in the current EMC interoperability lab testing. (Although ANCOR was listed as a FibreAlliance member).

An analyst also asked if EMC might be reselling a 3rd part switch such as the Silkworm and EMC stated they didn't plan on it.

Does this mean that neither ANCOR, BRCD or other has a chance at OEMing to EMC or is the Connectrix/McData switch more of a higher end product and targeted at different niche applications?

Thanks

Eric
