SDMI resolution's mission is to prevent the pirating of their music by absolutely preventing the movement from media to media. This is job #1 and the reason they even exist. Initially they will allow both protected and non protected music to play in existing players but only until they have control, at that point they will stop the pirating. This issue is a control issue and nothing more, they could care less what media music is put on and only care that it stays on one media per payment. For the hardware and media players it becomes a matter of economics ( who's got the most for the least cost )and the reason why Iom will be an important player. They will absolutely bond music to media.
