TLC,

From the link you provided:

Message 10391283

But I bet, 99% of the people who invest over the internet don't even have a clue as to what the companies that they invest in, actually do.

I'd bet he's wrong about the percentages, unless he's talking strictly about people who post on threads devoted to stocks on the OTC-BB; or perhaps the cadre of day-traders that invest strictly by technical analysis. Any of the long term investors that stick mostly to large caps and mid caps (and the infrequent small cap) certainly know what they're getting into.

That you and your cyber friends really believe that you are teaching anybody, anything, is a joke. People just want to make as much money, as quickly as they can, and could care less if every CEO, CFO, and COO just marched out of the State Penitentiary.

I teach average and novice investors the proper way to invest, not to speculate on some IPO, some mo-mo or some penny stock garbage. I mostly use (and advocate) the NAIC methodology of investing for the long term. I teach them where to look for information, and how to analyze that information when they find it. I do *NOT* recommend any particular stock to them. Instead, we focus on their choice's fundamentals and make an informed decision on what the company's future prospects may look like. We never accept the professional analysts' opinions at face value.

If you would be completely honest with yourself, I am sure that even you and all your morally upstanding SI friends, given the opportunity to make some great money, would invest in a questionable company, only to reap some great monetary rewards.

I have invested in companies that have ultimately turned out to be bad investments, and questionable from that perspective, but I never have and never will knowingly invest in a questionable company. And I never have and never will recommend that anyone else do so either. I wouldn't be very happy with myself knowing that I took advantage of someone else's inexperience just to make a profit. And yes, I can recognize a pump (in the pump stage) and know when to dump. I just wouldn't do it regardless of how much money I could make. And I trust that neither would any of my SI friends. Personal integrity knows no price.

And if you tell me anything different, I will absolutely not believe you.

We tend to judge others by the moral standards we allow for ourselves. Enough said about that...

KJC

TLC,

Thanks for posting that. I have always heard there was someone that stupid on SI but didn't actually know who it was. Now we all know. <GG>
