Very, very interesting, last two posts...yours and Ian's....I guess, I wouldn't be too far off to suppose that once the payouts are securitized, then the trial atts. now have the green light to shut the industry down (like dow-corning, asbestos, bendectin , dalkon shield etc). By the same token, government relies on the industry for lots of revenue....what would happen to that if the industry is bankrupted???...therein setting up an interesting showdown between liberal trial atts who want the industry shut down and liberal Clintonites who want it shut down too, but can't afford the monetary consequences of doing so...strange bedfellows indeed..
