I think a good book to track down would be Alexander Dana Noyes ( NYT)" The Market Place: Reminiscences of a Financial Editor" he was a gloom & doomer -before the crash like some people I know -g- HO HO HO It is also interesting to note as the 20's boom progressed increasing amounts of debt were used for speculative purposes as suggested by the debt/GDP growth ratio.
