Microforum Appoints Dwight Crane to Board
of Directors

TORONTO, July 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Microforum Inc. (Toronto: MCF - news) is pleased to announce that Mr.
Dwight B. Crane, Professor Finance and Banking at Harvard Business School, has been appointed to the Board
of Directors of Microforum Inc. Professor Crane will be joining the Honourable David Peterson, Efrim Boritz,
Donald Paterson, Francois de Gasp, Beaubien and Howard Pearl as the other Board members.

Professor Crane is a member of the Finance faculty at Harvard University and has been active in the financial
institution field for many years. H coordinated the Global Financial System Project at the Harvard Business School,
which focused on the future role and structure of financial institutions. In addition, Mr. Crane has co-authored
several financial books such as The Global Financial System: A Functional Perspective, Doing Deals: Investment
Banks at Work and The Effects of Banking Deregulation. He teaches finance and banking subjects in the MBA
and executive education programs. Professor Crane also resides on the Board of Directors of the Smith Barney
Appreciation Fund and other mutual fund companies sponsored by Salomon Smith Barney.
