price changes, were $225.5 billion, up 1.5 percent (+/- 0.7%)

Housing Starts for June 1999

Housing starts = -6% to 1.57m

Privately owned housing starts in June were at a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1,571,000, according to estimates reported today by the U.S. Commerce Department's Bureau of the Census. This is 6 (+/-6) percent below the revised May rate of 1,665,000 and 3 (+/-7) percent below the June 1998 rate of 1,626,000.
