It wouldn't surprise me. If MicroOS is capable of reading other encripting schemes with some sort of program, other OS's should be able to handle EPAC. The key to MicroOS is it's ability to handle Flash, and all other forms of memory.

I suspect the cost of having MicroOS in a device will not be that great, but companies looking to provide the cheapest devices may try to get around it. The educated consumer will know the difference, you'll probably be able to hear the difference, but some people bought UGO's, but not enough to keep them in business.
