I have talked with Nam vets in VFWs in four states and, none of them have any problems with any body that voluntarily joined the guard. Some of them had been guardsmen themselves and knew that, if needed, the guard would be called up for active duty and had already had some training to make them more effective quicker.

Their real disgust was aimed at Hanoi Jane and the pukes that ran to Canada. They didn't find out until later some of the, almost traitorous things that WC did by traveling to Russia and bad mouthing the military at every opportunity. I am not a member of SI yet but would be interested in monitoring your new thread. TD
