Yeah, it was neat. I've been very fortunate to have some great encounters with nature. My very favorite (which I re-live almost every year) is lying in a blind in a potato field at 6am on a cold winter morning and having litterally THOUSANDS of snow geese landing all around you. The noise is defeaning, and the sight/sound is just spectacular!

Your whale shark experience is awesome. I've been in the water with a humpback whale before, but she just came over to us, took a quick look, and swam off. That was pretty awesome too. I would love to be in the water with a whale shark. Jacques Cousteau is one of my hero's. If you ever want to read an interesting biography, read his. He was an incredible man.

-Joe

Hey Sarkie, I bumped into a Basking Shark once, Huge Sucker!

Second largest shark in the world next to the Whale Shark, though nearly the same size 50-60-ft. & plankton feeders.

I was cruising a quiet inlet on a calm clear day in Clayoquot sound in my cute little hand crafted 3/4 inch thick hulled Clinker.

I was heading up the inlet to look for Anchovy with my little Purse-Seine and was rolling a Drum cig when all of a sudden the boat bumps something solid on the starboard bow and this tail shoots up along side my boat, hitting it as it up, and smashing down only inches away from the hull!!, Almost fish-game-over!
