An "adaptive anomaly" I hope. It is a trait that in my utterly self-absorbed opinion would go far to "normalizing" relations between men and women.

But he's a good anomaly. I know lots of good guys. Probably one big part of it is social class - and I don't mean money. I know Donald Trump has a lot of money, but is a sexist a-hole. The Washington Post had a feature on him - he and his buddies comment loudly on the attributes of women they see walking down the street, and brag about their sex lives where everyone can hear them, and such.

Men who are well-bred don't behave like that. And it's not a matter of whether or not you open a door for a woman - I think well-bred people who are physically healthy hold doors open for others regardless of sex.
