Datek does provide additional private insurance of $10,000,000 on equities only but there is a bit of a catch. The total indemnity provided by the private insurers cannot exceed $100,000,000 in the aggregate under any/all circumstances in any given policy year. as stated at datek.com So they can handle 10 people at $10,000,000 in one year or some other permutation for a few more people. Divide that among all Datek's customers and the limit per customer might not be all that much. As always, read the fine print.
