It has been my experience that soccer is still perceived as the sport for also rans.

And run you must... a fit soccer player will outrun an American Football player, Baseball player, and, Basketball player...

This is exactly my point.

Can you imagine if the best athletes in football and BBall started out in soccer? Can you imagine what it would be like to stop a team of highly skilled quick and agile men that could have been 220+ lb running backs in the NFL who can run the 100 yd dash in under 10 seconds and with 5% body fat? What does a team composed of 160 lb men do? Get out of the way? LOL.
