sometimes cannibalization can be deadly, borland's release of $70 priced dbms's in the early 90's killed the company. in this case it's not an issue.

rose is missing the point, these enterprise class applications can't be threatened by workgroup products and won't be, the cost of the software is a small portion of the deployment cost. what he's missing is where the integrators are heading...they are going wild for sebl as they pull back from erp projects.

moreover, these are mission transforming enterprise scale deployments, the cheap stuff and the web only shlock he's brought public aren't even competing with sebl. it's funny, he doesn't have any valuation objections on exap, slower growth and higher forward multiple.
