Is our Hawaii planning in the mature stage yet? could not wait for the Big Bash. For us girls, spa, scuba, steak, hike, Hana waterfall, hanauma Bay Snorkel, our in-house doctor, watch sunset on a boat all be fun. i also miss the pig meat cooked under the ground, the drinks, the sizzling sun.
Could we suggest a budget for the trip, and come up with the priority things we do?
What is the latest Hawaii-goers list?

Carolyn, you will have to try tenting in Hawaii, it's great!

You get a large tent, a couple of plush fabric covered foamies from Wall Mart, a cooler and a couple lawn chairs and go most any where you want and kick-back Sister!

If you reserve in advance you can get a real nice 4-wheel drive and go to the best spots on any Island here.

I'm off to Maui for the day on Friday, then on to Vancouver island to my summer home and then Seattle for my brother's wedding in a few weeks.

Carolyn, I have never been to Maui, but this is what I know based on research:

Kapalua and Wailea are two of the nicest (and most expensive) parts of the island. Prices at the latter are 200+ and up. In Aug, we will be in staying at the Outrigger Wailea (formerly Astin Wailea) with ocean view at the low end of that range.

Napili also appeals to me. Lower key, gorgeous beach, more reasonable prices. Have heard good things about The Mauian and Napili Point there.

For more action, check out Lahaina and Kaanapali (not my personal choices to stay).

Will let you know how my trip turns out. :)
