First off... I believe the post you are referring to was addressed to kis, who makes me a little angry because he has no rhyme or reason for the bs he spouts, so I guess I was being a little "mean" towards the Boys team. Now... My impression of the US men soccer team is that they are actually one of the fittest athletes amongst the world teams... However, it is precisely the fact that soccer has to "come from within" in order to be capable of winning a major championship... make no mistake, the US team has made incredible advances in the short US soccer history but winning the World Cup is no easy task. Athletically speaking, the US team is in great shape, now comes the really hard part, that inspiration and ability to win a World Cup that is the hard part. Last year, I was looking forward to a better performance as I was convinced they could do it..... the real problem was the US had a Super-Moron as a head coach. In a couple of matches, his line-up decisions were less than brilliant... They should re-hire Bora Milutinovich, a Yugoslavian who took Mexico, Costa Rica, the US, and Nigeria through the corresponding qualifying rounds [a grueling process on its own], to the final tournament of 24 nations. Plus.... the boys division is far tougher then the women... for now. Not to take away from the women's achievement, which is great on its own and also a form of tribute to the US girls that from a country that 15 years ago soccer was a near joke, to now possibly twice World champions... not a small feat. The boys do face more hard work, but not impossible, you, more than any other nation in the world, have the resources to do it.
