I'm Baaaaaack from Bidnit! Could hardly keep my mind on such dull stuff when all I wanted to do was talk about Concerts In The Old Days. LOVE reading such great posts from such nice folks, describing the fun of the greatest shows on earth that we enjoyed!! You know, Those Greats have really had most of us in their audience at one time or another, huh. "Wshew, That's Heavy". Jethro Tull....wow THAT Rings My Bell! I remember seeing them in San Diego Convention Hall in the early '70's.... no seats of course, everyone Rocking so Outrageous!! There's Ian Anderson in this horrible tattered plaid rags getup like Aqualung would wear... did he ever look GREAT! Yep leaping around like a monkey that's him, screaming through his flute, striding long-legged through the audience, sharing things like kisses and gropes and puffs here and there with folks, no such thing as heavy security or one-way paths or assigned seats (or danger to the performers or fear of a riot either) in those days! I remember the bass player looked like Cheech, moved in the same 5-step pattern in the same small quadrangle for hours, oh yeah Tull's bass GIT-tar! I love to zero in on the bass, check out what it's doing, don't you?And guys and gals knew how to DANCE together so hot then, too, remember?! I don't remember for sure who opened for him but I think it was James Taylor..talk about opposites, the crowd was revved up and ready to bottlerocket for Tull, And Did, once they came on is what I DO remember of it. I guess if one can say one remembers everything, means you didn't have As Much Fun as was Possum-bule. Funny you should mention it, I listened to Locomotive Breath on the radio riding home just now and was thinking of that concert ... I love the wind in my hair driving when a favorite rock song is blasting... adjusting base and treble just right, front and back speaker real quick to balance the air conditioner noise, then volume all the way up, windows wide open on the highway ... while LOCOMOTIVE BREATH by Tull is Blasting the Hell out of all 4 speakers in my station wagon with the right nice acoustics...gliding along all comfy. "I LIKE THAT OLD TIME ROCK AND ROLL, DAKINE MUSIC TO SOOTHE MY SOUL, I REMINISCE ABOUT THE DAYS OF OLD, TO THAT OLDTIME ROCK AND ROLL". 909 909 Joanie I'll talk about Mick and Beatles later, Oim Verklempt.
