Les; Some of that draw down was due to bombing raids over
Yugoslavia , they didn't mention taht.
It's ironic how the pundits condemn price fixing except when
it comes to oil, when it comes to oil they cheer.
Higher oil prices will slow things down more than the
rate hike, and could cause inflation to boot.
---------------
Labor is blamed for inflation, but it amounts to less than
1/10th of the cause of any price increase.
Most of the Ships I worked on paid out more on interest rates
than they did wages , and a $3 move in bunkers would amount
to more than the entire crew got paid.
They have to jack the price of oil up so countries like Nigeria
can pay the "vigorish" on the loans they are charged by
the bankers for the junk they get from England and France.
AND most of it is junk too, I helped deliver some of it.
And it was such a disgrace on my last trip to Nigeria I decided
to wash my hands of the whole mess. What was going on was
just as bad as any type of organized crime I ever saw.
