Yahoo provides free e-mail to any and all with a secure signature. Their sign-up rate is a fraction of the CUST project and they are always number 1 or 2 in terms of Web reach based on Media Metrics.

barb, you bring up an interesting point...less cost to sign up a user if utilization is not a concern...but then you are in the phone book business, surely a few competitors there

imho, the real business is micropayments and www 'chauffering', somewhat like ZAP...put up enough sites or put out enough 'front ends' and you control the eyeballs, maybe

too bad that AOL and SYMBIAN have this piece figured out already
AOL with mail embedded browser and SYMBIAN that understands that nextgen www access is NOT through PC/email but wireless

for those who may have missed this trend, please see RIMM

CUST is toast, if i didn't short MCOM today, it would have been CUST within 60 days of their ACTUAL product release...then again, i may not be able to wait that long...MCOM may have been a good idea, i figure i can swing into CUST by Christmas

good luck
ynot :)
