MGV, Thanks for the compliment. That said, my attitude does make it difficult to evaluate many smaller companies whose activities are not easily assessable in person due to geography. I pretty much always pass on such companies (long and short). I have felt OK looking at VLNC because I have a lot of exposure to the mobile computing world, which has always been assumed to be a key market for their products. I grew less comfortable with them as it became more and more clear that they were putting emphasis on the cellphone market. While that business is similar in many important respects, it is still less familiar to me. Yet another reason for me to have closed out my short position. mg mg
