Robert, Yeah I know that whole area VERY well. That little Island across from Tofino is what I look at out off the front deck of our family Log cabin. I measured a Western Red Cedar in the area in 1974 that was 24 feet 8 inches in diameter at eye level, 50 ft away was another Great Grand Mother 18ft in dia.!! Also counted growth rings of felled Cedars's up to 1'600 years old and still thriving when they were cut down. The wolves ate my cat and a Couger ate my dog Mr. Brook's who was protecting my baby son at the time. Last summer I had to chase a Black Bear off the back porch for three weeks. A true Wilderness there still, which is what I love about the place. Eagles, Seals, SeaLions, Gray, Humpback and Killer whales abound,; and much much more... Puna
